Latest Updates from Stripe: Powering Revenue Growth for 300,000+ Businesses

At the same time, their billing solutions are used by more than 300,000 businesses, including industry leaders like OpenAI, Anthropic, and NVIDIA, which rely on the core of the Revenue suite, Stripe Billing. In our customer base, we also see an increasing interest in the use of Stripe Billing across enterprise users.

At this month’s conferences, Stripe unveiled significant updates for their billing customers, including powerful new tools like scripts and workflows, which turned Stripe into a programmable revenue engine.

This year’s theme was “Smarter, Faster, and Global Growth.” From automating fraud detection to flexible billing and expanding global payment reach, Stripe is evolving fast and opening up many new possibilities for subscription businesses.

Many of these innovations make it easier for businesses to scale, expand globally, and optimize revenue management without overhauling the entire infrastructure.

Here’s a quick summary of the latest updates:

Billing

    • Stripe Scripts: Customize and extend billing logic with multistep flows using your data and Stripe’s APIs.
    • Workflows: This is especially exciting for many organizations looking to automate processes across Stripe products with conditional logic.
    • Real-time usage billing: The new Meters API enables real-time usage billing.
    • New Features: Mixed interval subscriptions, invoice consolidation, unallocated payments, and partial payments are now available.
    • Financial Reports: Streamlined connections to your data warehouses with expanded support for Stripe Organizations.

Payments

    • Advanced Fraud Prevention with AI: Radar Assistant helps teams develop and test fraud rules in natural language, reducing fraud by an average of 23%, while global fraud went up.
    • Expanding Global Payment Capabilities: Stripe now supports local methods like ACH, Alipay, WeChat Pay, UPI, SEPA, and handles currency conversion automatically, simplifying international sales.

Tax

    • Global Tax Solution: Tax now supports global registration and filing, covering 102 countries.
    • New Featuresinclude country, state-specific rules for shipping fees and integration with third-party tax solutions like Anrok, Avalara, and Sphere.

Revenue Recognition

    • Faster Transactions: New transaction data is available within 3-4 hours, enabling same-day book closing.
    • Accrual Accounting: Previewed support for usage-based billing models in Revenue Recognition.

Sigma & Data Pipeline

    • Faster Access to Data: You can query Stripe data in Sigma within three hours or via Data Pipeline in six hours.
    • Sigma API: Allows you to automate reporting and integration with custom environments.

Stablecoins

And, of course, their announcement about stablecoins: Stripe recently acquired Bridge, a key move that powers their biggest-ever upgrade to make money management internet-native and programmable. Starting today, businesses in the US and UK can store and manage money in multiple currencies, send and receive payments via local rails, and create virtual and physical cards. Over the next year, Stripe will make these capabilities available globally. Additionally, users in over 100 countries will soon be able to store, send, and receive funds via crypto and fiat rails using stablecoins, with new features like global payouts to 58 countries and a USDC-denominated corporate card powered by Stripe Issuing and Bridge.
